Which PC Is Right For Me?

J.N. Equipment builds a number of different pressure washer models. This gives our customers more choices so they get a machine that meets their needs.

Which "Series"?

The
Cat, Comet &
General
Commercial Series

are designed for contractors of all sizes. They all Feature aluminum frames, and offer direct drive, gear drive & belt drive options.

Which Drive System?

Direct drive

is the most economical means of power transmission.
The pump is directly attached to engine, and they both turn at the same speed.
Ideal usage is up to 3 times a week.

Gear Drive

pressure washers employ a mechanical transmission which reduces pump RPM by 50%.  This equates to longer pump life.

Belt Drive

pressure washers reduce pump RPM by 50% via pulleys and belts.  This also equates to longer pump life, and also keeps the pump cooler.

Which G.P.M. (Gallons Per Minute)?

The G.P.M. of a unit may be more important than the pressure depending on what type of work you are doing. The G.P.M. tells how fast the job will go.

<3 G.P.M. would be for homeowners who are not concerned about the time involved in cleaning around the house
3.0-3.5 G.P.M. would be for small contractors/homeowners or those who need pressure for stripping paint, at the expense of G.P.M.
4.0-5.0 G.P.M. would be for most contractors and is the popular choice for most pressure washers
5.5-8.0 G.P.M. >  would be for contractors who desire extra speed when cleaning as these units could cut your job time in half

Which P.S.I. (Pounds per Square Inch)?
The P.S.I. "number" of a pressure washer is often mistaken for the overall power of the entire unit. The P.S.I. is much more useful when compared to the G.P.M. & horse power in determining how powerful the machine is.
<1500 P.S.I.  would be for very light duty cleaning
2000-2500 P.S.I. would be for general cleaning
3000-3500 P.S.I. would be for strong cleaning
4000+ P.S.I. would be used mostly for striping off old paint

Example 1

A homeowner wants a pressure washer to use around the house on the weekends for cleaning the house and their car.
We may recommend an Comet Commercial Series HP2230-HTD, this unit has 2000 P.S.I. (light general cleaning) @ 3.0 G.P.M. (homeowner)

Example 2

A contractor wants a pressure washer for cleaning houses & buildings. They may need to strip off some old paint.
We may recommend a Cat, Comet or general commercial series (pump brand personal preference) such as a HP3545-HPG, HC4040-HTG or HC4040-HGD, these unit all have 3500 P.S.I. (strong cleaning) @ 4.0 G.P.M. (standard speed)

Example 3

A contractor says that the pressure washer he has now is too slow. His unit cleans fine, but he does roofs & driveways and can't clean more than 2 roofs in a day. He still has 78 roofs left to do.
We would recommend calling JN Equipment about a custom built unit which may have 8.0 G.P.M. (very fast cleaning), and he should be able to cut his time by 50% doing twice as many jobs in a day.
